29 Sex Beasts Attack Again

SEX beasts have carried out 29 attacks since coming off the offenders’ register. And another three were still on the pervert monitoring list in Scotland when they struck again.
The alarming figure compares to 20 reoffenders convicted since being removed from the register in the whole of England and Wales.
Last night Tory justice spokesman Liam Kerr said: “The first priority must be to keep the public safe. “If there’s any suggestion that sex offenders considered ‘no longer a risk’ are going on to commit further appalling crimes, then the system must be investigated.
“A responsible government will surely step in at the earliest possible opportunity to find out how and why this is happening. Failure to do so will reinforce the view that the SNP are a soft touch when it comes to justice.”
Freedom of information figures for last year show that by November, cops had recorded eight reoffenders who had previously been on the register.
Two more were convicted of attacks while still on the list. That followed ten previously convicted perverts caught in 2017, plus one more that year who was still registered.
Seven repeat offenders struck in 2016 and four in 2015, despite being taken off the list.
The figures include people whose time on the register had expired as well as those who were removed following a review after being handed an indefinite term.
In Scotland, sex offenders placed on the list indefinitely are automatically reviewed every 15 years or every eight years for perverts under 18.
Offenders down south who are on an indefinite order must apply to be taken off the register after the same periods of time.
Police Scotland records show 239 beasts have come off the register and 103 have remained on it following a review. Eighteen perverts on the register are under 18.
Detective Superintendent Gail Johnston, head of the National Offender Management Unit, said: “We are legally required to review all offenders on indefinite notification to assess risk. Since 2015, less than one per cent of those removed following a review have committed further sexual offences.” A Scottish Government spokesman said: “We are committed to supporting police efforts to monitor sex offenders. Rules governing registered offenders are more stringent than ever.”
